Joe, on the other hand, isn't so impressed. As a matter of fact, he decides to quit the city and his family and move out. The guys think it's great. He's living the dream! If so, then why does Lois feel so darn sorry for him?

But what happens when a trip to Niagara Falls turns in the guys worst nightmare? Who will be a hero then? You need to watch Family Guy online by clicking below to find out!

Family Guy Season 13 Episode 15 Review: Once Bitten

Peter seemed to learn an important lesson tonight, although we all know it'll be wiped from the fried hard drive of a mind he has by the time the next title sequence rolls around.

Family Guy Season 13 Episode 15 had Brian change twice, once into an alpha-male and then into a submissive "puss" (as Stewie puts it), and Peter specifically, seems to learn a bit more about why, and just how much, he loves his friend.

Brian got to experience a few brief minutes of empowerment this week when the roles are reversed and he embraced his more alpha-male tendencies. He spat at Peter to mark his territory, had him running his errands, and was pretty much running the house, all because Peter awoke the beast within by trying to administer suppository pills.

The dog's rein is short lived, however, as he soon gets the Clockwork Orange horror treatment, complete with his eyes plastered open, at obedience school. Lois forced the decision upon Peter, but the latter didn't seem to mind the benefits of a more obedient pet at first (especially one that can tie one mean bow-tie).

In the end, Peter realizes Brian's initial reaction of biting the man getting weirdly close to his anus, was a justified course of action. And uses this discovery to shock Brian back to his sense.

He's my friend, I miss him.

Peter

Although the core plot was sound this week, a lot of the side gags fell flat. The butch lesbian with the motorcycle, the neighbors down the block, the black and white cartoon, amongst others, just felt like they were taking up space. There were, however, a few hilariously weird moments such as Peter in the jack in the box, Chris giving Peter a bath, and the "calcium mine" song.

The episode worked best when it was just focused on the dynamic between Peter and Brian.

Peter: I missed you Brian.
Brian: I missed you too Peter.
Peter: And now Im gonna go upstairs and pee in Meg's bed.
Brian: No, we're going to go pee in Meg's bed.
Peter: Good boy.

Chris had his own change in dynamic to deal with when Neil disrupted the fabric of lunch time and bonded with him over their hat wearing capabilities. However, when Meg, of all people, stole Neil from him, it took a boom box serenade for Neil to win Chris back. And I'm glad too because they make quite the pair of misfits:

Neil: Is this a nut free counter?
Chris: Uh I don't know, my dad's might have been on there at some point.

Watch Family Guy online and head over to Family Guy quotes for more highlights from tonight's episode (there were definitely many noteworthy one liners amidst all the obedience school drama).

Next week, on Family Guy Season 13 Episode 16, Peter seems to get his own roast, so that should be pretty great. As always, feel free to leave your thoughts down below!

Should Brian stop drinking?

Well, if he wants to keep his liver, it's one of the options. The other option is not nearly as pleasant, and in Family Guy Season 13 Episode 15, it's the one he chooses. Did you really thik he'd choose to give up drinking?!

Well, this method is very unpleasant. So much so that he turns into an alpha dog and even bites the hand that feeds him, causing the family distress. Can you imagine?

All of this calls for a trip to obedience camp, where Peter's best friend becomes rather submissive and absolutely no fun at all. Which is better, an obedient dog or one that will occasionally bite you?

Let's whip out a beer and watch Family Guy online and let you be the judge of that.

Sweeps week begins in a big fashion and we have quotes to memorialize it.

Starting with a quote from one of the most beloved characters in television history, Derek 'McDreamy' Shepherd recalls his first kiss with his beloved Meredith on Grey's Anatomy. Pass the tissues. Again!

Another Shonda special, Olivia realizes she and Jake should have just stayed away from the madness on Scandal. Klaus mentions the obvious on The Originals as only he can. A hilarious line is found from The Odd Couple, which otherwise delivers little enjoyment. Will wonders never cease?

Elsewhere, Norman gets funny on Bates Motel, Eddie gets inspirational on The Flash, Xo's ironic on Jane the Virgin, Felix tells it like it is on Orphan Black and Hayley's smitten with her loved ones on Modern Family.

Uh oh. Peter is watching a Dean Martin Roast on a TV Infomercial and he thinks it's kind of fun. So fun, in fact, he asks his friends to throw him one. Except he doesn't know all the jokes are really insults and ends up leaving his own roast in tears.

Poor Peter!!

It seems Peter learns nothing on Family Guy Season 13 Episode 16, as when he and Brian go to a coffee shop and he's mistaken for a Barista, he takes home a bunch of women who start to make fun of Lois.

To keep his new friends, he insults her with the rest of them while Brian begs him to defend his wife.

When Peter discovers that Lois is already well aware of what women will do to other women, he decides to test the theory. Find out what Peter learns and if his friends can forgive him about the roast when you watch Family Guy online by clicking below!

23 Shows That Have Come Back From the Dead

All TV shows, no matter how successful, are eventually canceled. Sooner or later, whether they've been on the air one season or ten, the network drops the ax and the series is over. But there are a rare few that have been reborn to find an audience once again.

Whether it is due to a rabid fan base, a production studio willing to renegotiate or a miracle granted by the TV gods, there are a unique group of shows that have managed to defy the odds and be brought back from the dead.

We're talking Veronica Mars (available now on Amazon Prime!). We're talking Firefly (also available now on Amazon Prime!).

And we're talking overall about 23 TV shows that were amazingly brought back to life.

1. Veronica Mars

Veronica mars movie poster
Veronica Mars ran for three seasons from 2004 to 2007 before it bit the dust. Then, several years later, something miraculous occurred. A Kickstarter campaign surfaced and fans helped raise the $2 million to make a Veronica Mars movie a reality. The movie was released in March of 2014 and has left fans hopeful for a sequel.

2. Heroes Reborn

Heroes reborn
The unique sci-fi series about ordinary people who realize that they have superhuman abilities originally aired on NBC for four seasons from 2006 to 2010. Later, the online version, Heroes Evolutions, was created to explore the Heroes universe and provide further insight into the show's mythology. Proving that the series has its own superpower, it will be back on NBC with a 13-episode miniseries as Heroes Reborn in Fall of 2015.

3. Entourage

The entourage
Entourage aired on HBO from 2004 to 2011, but cancellation couldn’t keep the boys from Queens down for long. After eight seasons on TV, they took their story from the fictional big screen to the real one as Entourage the movie was released in theaters in June of 2015.

4. Firefly

The cast of firefly
Firefly didn't even get to finish out its one full season on FOX back in 2002 but despite its early cancellation, the fans love for the crew of the Serenity never died. In fact, it got stronger. So much so that a feature film, Serenity, was released in theaters in 2005. Hope of a sequel has always had fans of Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, and the rest of the memorable cast feeling shiny.

5. Arrested Development

Arrested development cast pic
Arrested Development originally aired on FOX from 2003 to 2006. The unique comedy garnered critical acclaim, six Emmys and one Golden Globe as well as quite the cult following. It was so popular that even after it was cancelled, Netflix brought it back to life and released a fourth season in 2013.

6. Longmire

Longmire poster
Sheriff Walt Longmire kept law and order over at A&E for three seasons but when the network pulled the plug after a cliffhanger finale, fans were outraged. Thankfully, Netflix stepped in and signed up to produce a fourth season which should be available later this year.

13 Episodes That Were Banned From TV: Find Out Why!

$

Right or wrong, there are some things that are taboo even for television. Whether the content is too disturbing, the topics too controversial or just a simple case of bad timing, occasionally a network will decide to stop an episode from airing.

Some of these shows have made it back on the airwaves while others were eventually released on DVD but, a rare few may be "lost" forever.

From racial diversity to abortion, sexual themes to religious extremism, and violent content to bare behinds, these 13 episodes were once banned from airing on TV.

1. The X-Files - "Home"

The x files home
In this episode, Mulder and Scully are called to investigate when the body of a disfigured baby is discovered. The story involved incest, genetic disfigurement, decapitation and burying a child alive. The director herself described one of the scenes as “the most awful shot of my career.” “Home” was the first episode in America to receive a TV-MA warning and FOX only aired it once before banning it for its intensely disturbing content. It wasn't seen on the air again until 1997, during a marathon on FX.

2. Sesame Street

Sesame street
When Sesame Street first debuted 1969, it was hailed as one of the best children's programs ever to air on TV, and as if to prove it, the show has become a TV staple, still airing new episodes to this day. But in 1970, Mississippi's Commission for Educational Television disagreed.

The Commission voted to ban the series from airing on the state's first public education channel because they felt their viewers were not ready to view such a “highly integrated cast of children.” When the Commission's report was publicized by The New York Times, show creator Joan Ganz Cooney called it, ”a tragedy for both the white and black children of Mississippi." After the controversy made national news, the commission reversed its decision.

3. NYPD Blue - "Pilot"

Nypd blue pilot
Steven Bochco intended to produce network television's first R-rated drama, and he succeeded in NYPD Blue. The series deliberately tested the boundaries of network TV with adult language ("Hey, ipsa this you pissy little bitch!”) and partial nudity (Who can forget Andy Sipowicz’s bare bottom?). The first episode caused such a stir that over a quarter of ABC’s network affiliates refused to air it in September 1993. Despite the controversy, the series' stellar writing and performances went on to garner 26 Emmy nominations and win six awards.

4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - “Earshot”

Buffy the vampire slayer earshot
In "Earshot," after she is accidentally infected with an aspect of the demon she's recently slayed, Buffy is suddenly able to hear the thoughts of others. Where some of what she hears is comical (Xander only thinks about sex. Cordelia says exactly what she's thinking), and some are frustrating (Angel's thoughts can't be heard because vampires are immune to telepathy), others are downright scary. While in a crowd in the lunchroom, Buffy hears someone think, “This time tomorrow, I'll kill you all.”

The massacre at Columbine High School took place on April 20, 1999, a week before this episode was to originally air, causing The WB to pull it. It would not be seen until September 1999, two weeks before the Season 4 premiere.

5. The Twilight Zone - “The Encounter”

The twilight zone the encounter
George Takei guest stars as Takamori, a Japanese-American in this Season 5 episode that aired in 1964. In it, Takamori and Fenton, a WWII veteran, are trapped in an attic as they debate events of a war 20 years in their past. The episode includes harsh dialogue where Fenton refers to Takamori as a “dirty little Jap” and that during the war he was told that the Japanese “…weren't even human. You were some kind of ape.” For his part, Takamori reveals that his father was a traitor who signaled the Japanese pilots during the attack on Pearl Harbor. In the end, both men end up dead.

At the time, as America was entering the war in Vietnam, the commentary about seeing an Asian race as not human was particularly pointed. After the original airing brought on numerous complaints, the episode was pulled from rotation, not to be seen again until the series was released on DVD.

6. Seinfeld “The Puerto Rican Day”

Seinfeld the puerto rican day
It was an episode that was said to have "crossed the line between humor and bigotry." Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer get stuck in traffic due to the Puerto Rican Day Parade when Kramer tosses out a sparkler and accidentally lights a Puerto Rican flag on fire. When he tries to put it out by stomping on it, the parade-goers misconstrue it and give chase, eventually shaking Jerry's car and tossing it down a stairwell. It all leads Kramer to quip, "It's like this every day in Puerto Rico." NBC apologized, and the episode was pulled from its rotation until the release of the Seinfeld Season 9 DVD in 2007.

Some shows just can't be stopped.

We do Throwback Thursday posts and some of the shows we cover within them aren't on the air any longer, but they've gone on and off the air within the time some of the long-running series on this list have been airing.

That almost sounds like a tongue twister, but it's just the truth. The Simpsons has been airing longer than some of you have been alive, the same is likely true for Law & Order: SVU.

The way NCIS is going, it seems there's little doubt it will join the ranks, and The CW has rolled out the red carpet for Supernatural to be around as long as the leads want to continue. Not bad!

Revisit with us what's already on the air this Throwback Thursday!

1. "Flowers For Your Grave" - Castle - 3/9/2009

Flowers for your grave castle 3 slash 9 slash 2009
Castle's first episode, "Flowers For Your Grave" aired on 3/9/2009. Eight years later and fans are finally looking forward to seeing Rick Castle and Kate Beckett move forward as a married couple. That's something that started out as a lovely flirtation in the premiere, when Castle, suffering from a bit of writer's block discovers inspiration in Beckett as she investigates a murder that appears to be based off of one of his novels. His fliration with her fails, but she inspires him to write. He'll base his next series of novels on a certain pretty detective he's come to know – but he needs to do more research. Of course, we always knew it wasn't just inspiration he saw in Beckett! Castle returns 9/21.2015

2. "Pilot" - The Big Bang Theory - 9/24/2007

Pilot the big bang theory 9 slash 24 slash 2007
Penny moved in across the hall from roommates Leonard and Sheldon in the pilot episode of The Big Bang Theory on 9/24/2007 and the lives of our lovable nerds were never the same again. It's taken nine years, but when the series returns this fall Leonard and Penny will be on their way to the alter. Will they go through with it? Howard, who began as the lonely wannabe ladies man is now married and must figure out how to send the new lonely guy, Stuart, packing. Sheldon has come a long way from the guy no one ever thought would ever be interested in anyone to buying an engagement ring for Amy. Raj has overcome the selective mutism that plagued him from the beginning, but will he be brave enough to tell Emily how he truly feels in Season 9? The Big Bang Theory returns Tues 9/22/2015

3. "Yankee White" - NCIS - 9/23/2003

Yankee white ncis 9 slash 23 slash 2003
The premiere episode of NCIS, airing on 9/23/2003, is titled "Yankee White" and introduces Caitlin "Kate" Todd, who is new to the team that was introduced on Jag Season 8. The story is that a Navy Commander dies on US Airforce One and the team is sent to help. During the hour, the first three of Gibbs' Rules are introduced. The episode was seen by 13.4 million viewers and garnered an 8.4 rating, to show how different TV is now than it was 13 seasons ago! Although it's still one of the highest rated shows on TV, it now gets about 2.5 share with 15 million viewers. WOW!! NCIS Tues Returns 9/22/2015

4. "Pilot" - Modern Family 9/23/2009

Pilot modern family 9 slash 23 slash 2009
In the series premiere of Modern Family, which aired on 9/23/2009, we were introduced to Jay Pritchett, his wife Gloria and all of his children and grandchildren as three interesting unique families all born of Jay in some way make up one big family. The series has been nominated for awards annually ever since and continued to make us laugh for all six seasons, no doubt right through Season 7 and beyond. Modern Family returns Wed 9/23/2015

5. "Payback" - Law & Order: SVU - 9/20/1999

Payback law and order svu 9 slash 20 slash 1999
The first Law & Order spinoff premiered on 9/20/1999. "Payback" featured a case in which a cab driver was murdered and castrated. Olivia Benson became personally involved when she realized that cab driver was a rapist and murderer himself. It's hard to believe (and somewhat disheartening) that we'll be on Season 17 when the series returns this fall, meaning there are more special victims cases than we care to think about, right? Thank goodness Benson has been on the case all along. Law & Order: SVU returns Wed 9/23/2015

6. "A Hard Day's Night" - Grey's Anatomy - 3/27/2005

A hard days night greys anatomy 3 slash 27 slash 2005
On March 27, 2005, "A Hard Day's Night" gave viewers their first look into Seattle Grace and the five surgical interns we grew to love. It initiated Meredith and Derek's romantic relationship, sparked the friendship of the "twisted sisters," gave George his endearing "007" nickname, and revealed that Meredith's mother suffered from Alzheimer's. When the series picks up this fall, Meredith will be navigating the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital without her husband or her best friend by her side. At least there will be somewhat of a return to roots for the show when Meredith moves back into her old house, this time with Maggie and Amelia as her roommates. Twelve Seasons and Grey's will still be running strong! Grey's Anatomy returns Thurs 9/24/2015

Family Guy Season 14 Episode 1 Review: Pilling Them Softly

$
0
0

While Family Guy Season 14 Episode 1 doesn't exactly break new ground, I still loved it.

Family Guy fans usually fall into two distinct categories: Those who thought the show had its best days in the early seasons and watch it begrudgingly, if at all, and those who think its only gotten better over the years.

I fall firmly into the latter camp. The show's brand of cutaways and scattershot humor has only gotten better over time, in my opinion. So what, exactly, went down in the Family Guy Season 14 premiere? Let's take a look!

Adderall - Family Guy

Stewie's teacher suggests to Lois that he be put on ADHD medication after he has trouble paying attention and bothers a little girl at nap time.

Hey? You up? Guess where I have a crayon?

Stewie (seductively to a little girl at nap time in school)

This sets the B plot in motion. I love the Stewie/Brian relationship, so I was happy they decided to resurrect Brian after his death a few seasons ago. These two are like an old married couple still coming to terms with the fact that they are stuck with each other and it's brilliant.

Meanwhile, after being disgusted by the tacos the Clam is serving and talking up his cooking prowess, Quagmire decides to cook dinner for the gang.

Ugggh! This tastes like Ani DiFranco after a bike ride!

Quagmire (referencing an awful Korean Taco)

It turns out he is a pretty marvelous chef, for sort of obvious reasons. Spurred on by the group, he decides to audition for a local cooking show and Peter will come along for support.

How do you think NBA players get all those chicks? They're all great cooks. Except Kobe Bryant. His secret is different.

Quagmire

Brian becomes enraged that Stewie has been given prescription medication, especially when he finds him wide eyed and high on top of a pillow fort in his room. But he changes his tone once Stewie informs him that the medication makes you "more productive". No doubt with dreams of writing the sequel to his passion project but ultimate failure "Faster Than the Speed of Love" in his head, Brian begins taking the meds as well.

Quagmire ends up impressing the station manager at the audition, but Peter stands out so much that he wants them both to star in a new show. Quagmire is always a source of hilarity, but in this instance he gets to play the straight man to Peter, who in the first episode they film, steals the show by performing the Cinnamon Challenge and completely ruining the dish. Quagmire becomes enraged, and fires Peter, but the station offers him his own show.

Brian meanwhile, high on meds, writes a 2000 page fantasy novel and builds a model village of the city within it in the basement. Much humor is derived from Stewie's laid back delivery and Brian's red eyes and rapid fire talking. Emboldened by the drugs, Brian decides to travel to Hartford where author George R. R. Martin is attending a book fair so that he can pitch him his novel.

Peter's show, Butter Sluts, in which he covers frozen food with the dairy product and then dunks hot female assistants into a vat of it debuts, much to Quagmire's chagrin. Peter is always good for  jumping the shark in any situation, and Butter Sluts was still making me giggle an hour later. Quagmire threatens to quit so the station decides they have to have a cook off with a secret ingredient.

Brian and Stewie meet George R. R. Martin.

God he must be the coolest fat guy in a train conductor's cap in the world!

Brian (referring to George R. R. Martin)

Brian pitches him his book, but he hates it and tells him he knew he was on medication when he wrote it so both he and Stewie decide to stop taking it. The B plot was a little weak but good for several laughs, especially at George R. R. Martin's expense.

Of course, by the end and after Peter disgustingly eats the entire meal he created out of butter, both he and Quagmire decide they don't want to be on a cooking show anyway. This has never been a show that was bogged down by continuity (unless it can make a rapid fire joke out of it like tonight's reference to Joe's once presumed dead son Kevin) so next week will no doubt have a new adventure and the cooking show will be forgotten.

That is one of the strength's of Family Guy: You can pretty much watch any episode from any season and you're guaranteed to laugh at something. This episode was no exception. It cracked me up as usual.

Obviously on a show like this with the jokes a mile a minute, seeing it yourself is important so watch Family Guy online to find out which ones didn't make my review.

Family Guy Season 14 Episode 2 Review: Papa Has a Rollin' Son

I spent more time shaking my head and rolling my eyes than I did laughing during Family Guy Season 14 Episode 2.

And the only times I did laugh was when Stewie was on the screen.

While I get what the social message was, Joe and Peter's story just fell short. I felt that the writers were trying too hard to toe the line between seriousness and humor. It would have been better had they just let loose and gone all--out offensive, because they certainly had no problem doing that with Stewie's story.

But maybe that's because they were making fun of Tom Cruise again, and who can't laugh at Tom Cruise?

Joe's Dad - Family Guy

The main storyline centered around Joe's estranged relationship with his father. Once the gang learns the reason for the estrangement and everything that follows, Peter comes up with an idiotic idea involving a horse to fool Joe's dad, Bud. For some reason, it reminded me of the stupid coupon chicken gag and all I could do was roll my eyes. It wasn't funny. And that's pretty much how the rest of this storyline went.

After Bud arrives in Quahog, I was expecting more. For a guy who is supposed to have such serious issues with handicapped people to cause Joe to not have contact with him for so long, the guy seemed pretty tame. If the writers can make comments about Jesus Christ and black people like they did in the beginning of the episode, then why hold back when it comes to handicapped people? I found it tiresome that the writers decided to go down the middle of the road on this one. Go all the way or don't go down the road at all.

The story continues to soft--pedal around the handicap theme for the rest of the episode, trying to be funny, but failing, finally ending with Joe no longer hiding his handicap and his father finally accepting people with handicaps. It all seemed like a rather long road to get to the point and the main message.

Well, dad, I can tell you from experience, it's only wen you worst fears come true that you get to find out how strong you really are.

Joe

Stewie's story on the other hand got to the point rather quickly. Stewie finds out he's going to be short as an adult and is having a hard time dealing with it, until he meets Tom Cruise, who in his crazy ways makes Stewie feel better.

Stewie: Doesn't it boether you being an adult man who's that short, 'cause the doctor said that's where I'm headed.
Tom Cruise: No way, man. In the middle of the word short is "or". Or gives you a choice, and I choose not to be short.
Stewie: Wow. You need a road map for that one.

The underlying theme, of course, being that short people are handicapped too. This storyline worked better because it wasn't trying to be serious. Sure, the writers were making fun of Tom Cruise, but it was funny. There were some serious digs at the guy, but they were still funny. And it got better as the story progressed, especially after Stewie finds out he's not going to be short after all and tries to blow off Cruise, who then becomes Tiny Tom Cruise, the stalker.  It was humorous because I felt that everything was being done with a wink.

I didn't get that feeling with Peter and Joe's storyline.

Overall, the episode didn't quite meet my expectations. I watch Family Guy to laugh and the laughs were few and far between.

Family Guy Season 14 Episode 3 Review: Guy Robot

Sometimes newer isn't always better, but in the case of Family Guy Season 14 Episode 3, a new week did bring better laughs.

And maybe that's because while Lois and Peter were buying a new mattress, it was Stewie and Brian who took center stage.

The New Matress

Brian decides to try his hand at stand-up comedy after watching an unfunny comic on TV. It almost made me feel as though Family Guy was trying to make fun of itself – that whole "if you can't laugh at yourself..."  I liked that.

When no one laughs after his first two jokes, he decides to steal Stewie's Twitter feed – the same Twitter feed he didn't think was funny – and the crowd goes crazy.

When Stewie catches him using his jokes, he decides to unfriend Brian (also funny) and creates a robot to be his new friend.

I thought the whole storyline was excellent in pointing out the ridiculousness of how much importance we place on social media. Are our "friends" really our friends? Does having 10k followers really make you popular?

As Stewie quickly finds out, it's all a farce. Thankfully, for him, he has a true friend in Brian who helps him see the error of his ways and eventually helps him get rid of the "friends" that aren't really his friends.

After all, true friends don't make you drink a bottle of garlic blue cheese dressing in order to be part of their club. At least they shouldn't. Though I found it humorous watching Stewie trying to barf it all back into the bottle like his "friends" wanted him to do. This is the kind of ridiculous humor I like to see on Family Guy.

And this kind of ridiculousness carried over onto the Lois and Peter new mattress storyline. After Lois discovers that Peter's side of the mattress is old and sunken in, Lois wants to purchase a new one. The couple created a lot of memories on the old mattress, but it's the idea of no sex on the new mattress for a few weeks that drives Peter to find the old one. In this case, old doesn't always mean better because bringing back the old also brings back the nasty.

The best part of this storyline was the thrill Peter found on Blueberry Hill. It made me laugh out loud. Base humor at its best. Oh, and Meg in the well, because, well, making fun of Meg makes for good laughs.

"Guy Robot" was a definite improvement over Family Guy Season 14 Episode 2. While I understand the need and importance for social statements, for me, Family Guy is at its best when it's not so serious.

Family Guy Season 14 Episode 4 Review: Peternormal Activity *

What's so hard about writing a horror movie? Anyone can do it, right?

On Family Guy Season 14 Episode 4 that's exactly what Peter and the guys think after going to see a ridiculously bad horror movie sequel.

Unfortunately for them, their horror movie writing quest soon becomes their own personal horror movie.

And a horror it was.

But first, let's talk about Stewie and Brian – who barely had any screen time this half hour. While they usually can be counted on for laughs, their storyline pretty much fit in with the rest of the episode which was one big yawn fest.

Brian decides to don glasses to give him an air of false sophistication. Stewie hates the idea and vows to destroy the glasses. I didn't understand why Stewie had such a problem with the glasses. Brian wasn't being overly obnoxious, so I had a hard time buying into Stewie's disgust.

After a ridiculous sauna gag that made absolutely no sense, Stewie finally accomplishes his goal when he a takes a bat to Brian's head while an unsuspecting Brian is reading the newspaper. Brian's reaction was hilarious.

Too bad Stewie couldn't have taken his bat to Peter and his horror movie storyline.

It wouldn't have been so bad had it not been done so many times before. And maybe that was the point...to spoof the spoofs and the spoofs of the spoofs. I'm just not sure if I liked it.

Peter and the guys go to the movies to see "Maniac Pope 2," but are disappointed at how bad it was (like how I felt about this episode). They decide to write their own horror movie. After Joe comes up with "Cereal Killers" about a serial killer who only kills people who eat cereal, Quagmire suggests they go to someplace scary for inspiration.

Joe suggests the abandoned Quahog asylum. When they get there Peter, Quagmire, and Cleveland each come up with other ridiculous horror movie ideas. After Joe's cereal killer, the most ridiculous one was Peter's evil bar of soap. Had the writers stayed on this track of coming up with most ridiculous horror movie ideas ever, with cutaways, I think it would have worked much better.

Instead, the story becomes a horror story within a horror story. The guys freak themselves out with their own stories and try to leave the asylum, but are trapped. When they finally think they have a found a way out, they are confronted with a hook-handed guy they think is a killer. They decide to attack the guy and kill him in the process.

As it turns out, the guy, who uncannily looks like Seamus, was just the building's caretaker. And everything that you think will happen happens. The body has to be buried. The janitor's car has to be buried, etc., etc.

The next day Peter is paranoid and overreacts to everything Lois says. I enjoyed how Peter calls himself out for overreacting, but Lois still remained clueless. Just a typical day in the Griffin household. And Joe swearing about the John Mellencamp radio commercial was a definite highlight.

Eventually, the guys decide to frame each other. Then, just as they are about to kill each other, Peter says the events would make a great horror movie. So they make the horror movie, but realize that their horror movie is just as bad as the one they initially saw.

I thought it was rather clever that the janitor they thought was innocent wasn't innocent at all. He was a KKK leader who stole war medals. Nice social commentary, I guess. But then again, isn't that sort of ending a horror movie staple?
